Why this exists
Three things that go wrong past the last road
- The trailhead is usually where the last bar disappears.
- The province is on the phone already. The map draws, the search box answers and a walking route can be planned from the parking lot with the radio off.
- Your route is a GPX file in some other app that will not open it out there.
- Import a GPX file and its waypoints become saved places on your map. Export your saved places back out as GPX. Same file, same behaviour, on every platform.
- You want water, a site or somewhere to put the canoe in, and cannot look it up.
- Campgrounds, trailheads, drinking water, toilets, picnic sites and boat launches are stored in the region file, so nearby search reaches them offline.

Walking and cycling routes
Route on foot or by bike with the same offline graph the car uses, and with paths and tracks treated as what they are. -
GPX 1.1 in and out
Import a file somebody sent you and its waypoints become saved places — the put-in, the campsite, the parking spot. Export your saved places back out as waypoints. Every platform reads and writes the same file. -
Favourites that follow you
The put-in, the campsite, the spot with the view. Saved on the device, shared across every Navzeno app you use. -
Lakes drawn as lakes
Islands, forests and parks are drawn with their real shapes and their holes, in OpenStreetMap’s day colours — so a canoe route looks like a canoe route. -
Search by name, offline
Find a lake, a park, a portage or a town by name. Matching is by prefix, so the first few letters are enough — spelling correction is planned, not built. -
Off-route warning
On a route, the app notices when you have left it and shows it — then plans a new one on the phone. -
Terrain, contours and elevation Planned
Hillshade, contour lines and route elevation profiles need a new data source and a new section in the region file. Planned, not available. -
Recording a track as you walk Planned
Reading and writing GPX works today; recording a new track while you move is planned. -
Offline trail guides and safety notes Planned
Curated route content is a later wave. The map is OpenStreetMap data, not a guidebook.
